Brittney Blane: “I draw inspiration from my travels, art, and, of course, my amazing followers! It’s all about curating a space that feels uniquely you. I love helping people find their style and create a home that tells their story. Your home is your sanctuary, so I try to tap into emotions when I make design suggestions. You can do the same by sitting in your room and thinking about how you want to feel when you are in it.”
Q3: What has drawn your attention lately?
Brittney Blane: Lately, I’ve become very obsessed with rugs because so many people are getting away from wall-to-wall carpets but still want rugs to define spaces. I was getting ready to stage my house for my next installment on YouTube, and I realized I needed new rugs. Aladdin asked me what I wanted, and I said, ‘You pick.’ As a designer, it’s hard for me to turn over the reins, especially with such a crucial item as floor coverings, but I was blown away by what they chose. They worked some kind of magic in my home with the rugs they brought into my house. They are stunning! They are beautiful!”

Brittney Blane: “Great question! Before rug shopping, make sure to take room measurements in advance. Knowing your room’s dimensions is crucial. Determine the rug size that best suits your space and furniture arrangement, making sure that the rug accommodates all furniture legs, or at least the front legs. Leave a comfortable border of floor space around the rug for balance. Just like hanging curtains, you will want to make sure your rugs are in proportion to the furniture so that your room looks evenly weighted. Finally, you want to consider your color scheme and rug placement. It’s all about finding the perfect fit for your space.”
